Refund Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This explains when you get your money back for an Applied subscription, how to ask, and how long it takes. It is part of the Terms of Service.

The short version: ask within fourteen days of a payment and you get it back, whatever the reason. Nothing below takes that away.

1. What you are paying for

A subscription to Applied, billed at one of three intervals: $7.99 a week, $14.99 a month, or $49.99 a year. Each one renews automatically at the end of its period, at the same price, until you cancel it.

There is a free plan, and it does not expire. It exists so that you can find out whether this is useful before paying for it — one board, one resume and one cover letter, with every feature working. We would rather you tried the free plan than bought a subscription you then want refunded.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, from the Subscription section of your Profile page. It takes two clicks and does not require asking us.

Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end the period you have already paid for — you keep the paid features until that period runs out, and then the account returns to the free plan.

Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. Your boards, applications, resumes and cover letters stay exactly where they are. What changes is that you cannot add more than the free plan allows, and public share links to your boards stop working.

3. Refunds

Fourteen days, any payment, no reason needed. Ask within fourteen days of a charge and we refund it in full. That covers a first payment and a renewal alike, and it applies whichever interval you are on.

These are refunded in full whenever they happen, not only within fourteen days:

  • A charge you did not intend — a duplicate, or a renewal you had meant to cancel and have not used since.
  • A charge taken after you cancelled.
  • A period where the service was substantially unavailable and the fault was ours.
  • Anything we got wrong. If we billed you incorrectly, we fix it.

After fourteen days, a refund is not automatic — but ask anyway. A yearly subscription cancelled in its second month is a conversation worth having, and the answer is decided by a person rather than by a rule.

4. How to ask

Email billing@applied-app.com from the address on the account. Tell us which charge, and that is enough — you do not have to explain why, and we will not ask you to.

We answer within five working days and process approved refunds within ten. The money goes back to the card or method it came from; we cannot send it anywhere else. How long it then takes to appear is your bank's decision, usually another few working days.

If you paid and something is wrong, please write to us before asking your bank to reverse the charge. A chargeback takes weeks and closes your account automatically; an email is usually answered the same day.

5. If the price changes

The price of a subscription you already have does not change underneath you. If we change what Applied costs, existing subscriptions stay at the price they were bought at until you cancel one and start another.

If that ever has to change, you would be told before it took effect, with enough notice to cancel first — and a renewal charged at a new price you were not told about is refundable under section 3 regardless of the fourteen days.

6. Your rights under the law

Nothing here reduces a right you have by law. Where a consumer-protection rule gives you more than this policy does, the rule wins and this policy simply does not apply to that part.

If you are in the EU, a distance contract for a digital service normally carries a fourteen-day right to withdraw. Some services ask you to waive it in exchange for immediate access. We do not ask you to waive it. You get immediate access and the fourteen days, which is what section 3 already says, extended to everyone wherever they live.

The contract is with Yukhym Denyshchenko, and the law of Ukraine governs it — see section 15 of the Terms, including what that does not take away from you as a consumer in your own country.

7. Who handles the payment

Card details are taken and held by Paddle, not by us. We never see a card number, and we could not charge one directly if we wanted to. What we can see is which subscription an account has, whether it is paid, and when it renews.

Paddle is the merchant of record, which means it is the seller on your receipt and the party that issues the refund. Asking us and asking Paddle reach the same place; asking us is usually faster, because we do not have to work out who you are first.

Invoices, receipts and the card on file are all reachable from the Subscription section of your Profile, which opens Paddle's own billing portal. Cancelling from there works the same as cancelling from here.
